Employee Safety Policy

1. Purpose:

The purpose of this policy is to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors by implementing effective safety measures and complying with applicable laws and standards.

2. Scope:

This policy applies to all employees (permanent, temporary, and contractual), contractors, and visitors at all locations of Sunbeam Elastomers Pvt. Ltd., including offices, manufacturing units, and project sites.

3. Objectives:

a) To prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and accidents.
b) To comply with statutory safety regulations and standards.
c) To promote a culture of safety and awareness among employees.
d) To provide necessary resources, training, and equipment for maintaining safety.

4. Policy Guidelines:

Workplace Safety Standards:
a) Identify and assess potential hazards regularly to mitigate risks.
b) Maintain fire safety equipment, first aid kits, and emergency exits in all facilities.
c) Ensure machinery and equipment are regularly inspected, maintained, and used safely.

Employee Responsibilities:
a) Adhere to safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisors.
b) Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, gloves, and safety glasses as required.
c) Participate in safety training sessions and emergency drills.

Accident Reporting:
a) Any accident, injury, or unsafe condition must be reported immediately to the safety officer or supervisor.
b) A detailed incident report will be prepared to identify causes and preventive measures.

Health and Wellness:
a) Regular health check-ups will be organized for employees, especially for those exposed to hazardous environments.
b) Maintain an up-to-date emergency contact list for all employees.

Emergency Preparedness:
a) Conduct regular emergency drills, including fire, evacuation, and first aid training.
b) Provide access to mental health resources and counseling services.

5. Roles and Responsibilities:

Management:
a) Ensure compliance with safety laws and allocate resources for safety measures.
b) Regularly review safety policies and implement improvements.

Supervisors:
a) Monitor compliance with safety protocols within their teams.
b) Report hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.

Employees:
a) Follow all safety instructions and use equipment responsibly.
b) Report accidents, injuries, or potential hazards without delay.

Safety Officer:
a) Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
b) Organize training sessions and ensure readiness for emergencies.

6. Key Provisions

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): The company will provide PPE as per job requirements. Employees are responsible for its proper use and maintenance.
  2. Hazard Communication: Clear signage and safety instructions will be displayed in all work areas.
  3. Compliance with Laws: Adhere to laws such as the Factories Act, 1948, and other applicable safety regulations.
  4. Disciplinary Action: Non-compliance with safety rules will result in warnings or disciplinary measures.

7. Monitoring and Reporting

a) Conduct monthly safety audits and document findings.
b) Submit safety performance reports to the management.
c) Analyze incident data to implement preventive measures.

8. Review and Amendments

a) This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its relevance and effectiveness.
b) Amendments will be approved by the management and communicated to all employees.

This Employee Safety Policy has been approved by the Board of Directors of Sunbeam Elastomers Pvt. Ltd. on 1st January 2025.
